‘Traces’ refers to the marks left by the body on the world and, in particular, the traces left by my children as they left their beds each morning.
On rising they would leave evidence of their having been there in the crumpled and dishevelled sheets hastily pushed aside. Taken with a pinhole camera using Polaroid film these images indicate their presence and their absence. The essence of my children still lies here, traces of their existence evident in the soft folds and wrinkles they leave behind.
